Prairie Wind Farm is a small family farm located halfway between Houston and Austin on the beautiful rolling prairie of central Texas. Our farm is a working farm with cattle, chickens, and rabbits.

We offer accommodations in the three guestrooms located on the second floor of our 1921 farmhouse. A wonderful front porch, where you can relax with your favorite beverage and talk or read a book, is a great place to start or end the day.

A full breakfast is served in the dining room, and we cater to your breakfast wishes as much as possible.

For more privacy we offer The Smokehouse. As the name implies, it is a converted smokehouse. As much as possible of the original building has been preserved, making an interesting mix of rustic and sophisticated country. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a sitting area. Because of the intimate setting, The Smokehouse is available only as a unit. However, arrangements may be made for a special rate for the use of only one bedroom.

Breakfast

We serve a delicious full breakfast of fruit, coffee, juice, biscuits, and a breakfast casserole, waffles, or eggs. The menu varies, but it's always delicious!

Cancellation Policy

Reservations are confirmed upon receipt of credit card information. Payment in full is due upon arrival. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the 3:00 check-in time will be charged for the full stay unless we can re-book the room.

For the spring and fall antiques fairs, cancellations must be made before the first of the month before the start of the fairs. (March 1 and September 1, respectively). Cancellation after that date requires you to be responsible for the entire stay unless the room is re-booked.

Reservations for the MS 150 bicycle ride require a cancellation notice of one month.

All cancellations incur a $30 processing fee.

Special Notes

We gladly accept personal checks, cash, MasterCard, VISA, and Discover. All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card.

We gladly accept one-night stays. However, there is a $20/room housekeeping fee for one-night stays during the antiques fairs.

Directions From Round Top Square (5.2 miles)

From Round Top Town Square, take Hwy 237 north, turn right onto Althaus Road (about 4 miles). Turn right at the end of the road. We are the first (only!) driveway on the left.
